Welcome to Great Sankey High School

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Great Sankey High School: a vibrant, ambitious and inclusive school where we are proud of our students, proud of our staff and proud to serve our community.

As Executive Principal, I feel enormously privileged to lead Great Sankey High School. It is a school with a strong identity, a rich history and, most importantly, tremendous potential. My responsibility is to build upon those foundations, working alongside our students, colleagues, families and wider community as we continue to strengthen our school and Achieve Greatness Together.

At the heart of Great Sankey are our GREAT values: Growth, Respect, Excellence, Aspiration and Teamwork. These are more than words. They describe the culture we want every member of our community to experience and the qualities we seek to develop in every young person. They shape how we learn, how we behave, how we treat one another and the expectations we have of ourselves.

Our ambition is simple: every student deserves an excellent education and the opportunity to build an exceptional future.

Young people should know that there are adults around them who care deeply about their success, while also learning that their choices, effort and actions matter. We will support our students when they need us, challenge them when they need it and encourage them increasingly to take responsibility for the people they become.

We also recognise that excellent schools are never finished. Our commitment is to build thoughtfully upon Great Sankey's strengths while continuing to improve where improvement is needed. We will be ambitious without losing sight of what matters most: the everyday experiences of the young people who walk through our doors.
