Open Evening
We hope that you and your family are all safe and well and that the start of the new academic year has been a positive one for you. It has been an energetic and exciting start for us here at Great Sankey High School and our students, especially our new Year 7 Cohort, the Class of 2027, have started the year with positive attitudes, are full of enthusiasm and ready to learn.
Although our Year 7 students have only just joined Great Sankey High, the time has already come for us to begin preparation for the Class of 2028! With this in mind, we would like to invite you and your son/daughter to our GSHS Open Evening, This year we are delighted to be able to open our doors and demonstrate what makes GSHS “great in name, and greatest together” We are aware that some families may have commitments, or unable to attend as such in addition to our face-to-face visits we will be maintaining our virtual Open Evening.

Open Evening
This year all areas of the school will be fully open to our prospective families. Our fantastic students are eager to act as your tour guides and are the best ambassadors for our school. Throughout the evening you will get the chance to meet our amazing staff, understand our curriculum offer, and get a hands-on experience of what makes Great Sankey truly a great school to join. Our new Headteacher, Gary Evans, will be delivering 3 speeches throughout the evening. Due to capacity places at these speeches will be via prior booking (please see below). Our Headteacher will also be joined by our senior students who will give you all a unique insight into student life at GSHS. Whilst the speeches take place the school site will be remain open to all families – no booking is required. Parking is available via the Live Wire car park only. Please not that parking is limited and we would urge consideration for our neighbours.
This will give you the opportunity to visit a variety of departments, especially our recently built, state of the art Science block and purpose built, fully equipped Sports Hall.
