Results 2017

Great Sankey High School has had another successful year at GCSE and equivalent in 2017.  A huge congratulations to all the pupils on their success and good luck as they progress onto their future study or employment with training.

This year has seen a change in the traditional measures at school level with the old measure of 5A*-C including English and Mathematics being replaced with new measures (explained below).

New Measures

Progress 8, a measure of students’ progress across 8 subjects, will not be available until the 2017 results have been validated.

Attainment 8* is 51.64 (an average grade of 5.15 – equivalent to a high C)

*Attainment 8 is the students’ average achievement across eight subjects.

Percentage of pupils with a pass in English and Mathematics is 76.7% (last year was 73%)

The percentage with a pass in English (Ebacc) is 85.2% (last year was 79.2%)

The percentage with a pass in Mathematics (Ebacc) is 81.1 (last year was 83.2%)

Percentage of pupils achieving the English Baccalaureate combination of subjects* is 13.1% (15.5% of pupils entered the EBacc suite of subjects)

*This is pupils who got a grade C/5 or above in English, maths, 2 sciences (Inc. computing), a language and history or geography.

27.8% of pupils sat the separate science examinations.

75% of all grades were at A* to C

The overall average grade at A level and equivalent is C+

98% pass rate at A Level

24% of al A Level students achieved 3 A*AB grades

64% of vocational students achieved at least 1 Distinction or Distinction*

The Extended Project Qualification average grade of A-

Level 2 re-sit performance in English and Maths is well above National Average

The vast majority of our students got their first choice University
