Results 2016

Great Sankey High School has had another successful year at GCSE and equivalent in 2016.  A huge congratulations to all the pupils on their success and good luck as they progress onto their future study or employment with training.

This year has seen a change in the traditional measures at school level with the old measure of 5A*-C including English and Mathematics being replaced with new measures (explained below).  For comparison purposes, we have also included our traditional measures in our exam measures below:

New Measures

Progress 8 is -0.14

Progress 8 is based on students’ progress measured across eight subjects:

  • English;
  • Mathematics;
  • Three other English Baccalaureate (EBacc) subjects (sciences, computer science, geography, history and languages). For a list of eligible qualifications see here
  • Three further subjects, which can be from the range of EBacc subjects, or can be any other GCSE or approved, high-value arts, academic, or vocational qualification.

 

Attainment 8 is 51.86, C+

Attainment 8 is the students’ average achievement across these eight subjects.

Percentage of pupils with a good pass in English and Mathematics is 73%

The percentage with a good pass in English (Ebacc) is 79.2%

The percentage with a good pass in Mathematics (Ebacc) is 83.2%

Percentage of pupils achieving the English Baccalaureate combination of subjects is 32.4% (58% of pupils entered the EBacc suite of subjects)

This is pupils who got a grade C or above in English, maths, 2 sciences (Inc. computing), a language and history or geography.

32% of pupils sat the separate science examinations.

5A*-C is 74.4%

5A*-C inc English and mathematics is 68.3%

Expected Progress in English is 82.4%

Greater than expected progress in English is 37.9%

Expected Progress in mathematics is 77.5%

Greater than expected progress in mathematics is 29.1%
